Medical Dermal Needling

Skin needling is a little like aerating your lawn!

A small roller with rows of very fine titanium needles is rolled over the treatment area under topical anaesthetic. There may be some minor discomfort but the treatment is near pain free. There will be a mild sun burn appearance to the skin for 24 hours or so. Natural mineral make-up can be applied the following day as we recommend you do not wash the serums applied post treatment.

The needles cause micro injury in the deeper layer of your skin-the dermis. This in turn releases growth factors and repair cells (fibroblasts) to come in and repair the damage – a wonderful capacity our body possesses! Old collagen and elastin is removed and fresh new material laid down.

Dermal needling dramatically increases absorption of active ingredients/skincare products. It helps to restore firmness/tightness to skin and thickens the epidermis and helps reduce fine lines and improve skin texture. Large pores and acne scarring/pitting can be improved and stretch marks and other scars can also be treated. Dermal needling can also help lighten pigmentation and encourage re-pigmentation of white marks.

Dermal needling is suitable for all skin types, does not cause skin damage/discolouration, does not induce skin sensitivity to UV light and can be used for thin skin formerly treated with peels/laser. This procedure can be used on the face, neck, decolette area and any other part of the body that requires treatment.
